Genomics of coevolution
28.–29. April 2022
Studies of diverse biological systems have indicated that host–parasite coevolution is responsible for the extraordinary genetic diversity seen in the genomes of most organisms. This diversity is believed to evolve under balancing selection on hosts by parasites. However, the mechanisms that link the genomic signatures in these regions to the underlying coevolutionary process are only slowly emerging. We still lack a clear picture of these processes and of the genetic basis of the coevolving phenotypic traits in the interacting antagonists. In this workshop we will discuss recent advances in understanding the coevolutionary process.
